Troop #76 Accompanies Us to a New Decade

On Saturday, October 15, the Ridgefield Historical Society celebrated our 21st birthday with the official removal of the 20th Anniversary Banner and the launch of our partnership and collaboration with Ridgefield Boy Scout Troop #76.

On Saturday, October 15th, Ridgefield Boy Scout Troop #76 joined the Ridgefield Historical Society on the occasion of our 21st Birthday — finally of age! — removing our 20th Anniversary Banner and officially launching our partnership and collaboration. Under the leadership of Historical Society Board Member and Badge Leader Jason Zides, the Troop will be working with the Historical Society to achieve five merit badges — Archeology; Architecture; American Heritage; Photography; and Collections.

“The badge themes coincide directly with the Society’s activities and mission,” explains Zides, “and this is an excellent opportunity for both the Troop and the Historical Society. The Society benefits from an influx of youthful energy, manpower, and curiosity, and the Troop has the chance to learn about and be a part of the history of our town.”

The banner removal ceremony was followed by a tour of the Scott House with RHS Board president Tracy Seem, a tour of the below-ground archival vault with Board Member Sally Sanders, and last but never least, sparkling cider and home-baked treats.
