Welcome our new Executive Assistant to the team!

Welcome to the Ridgefield Historical Society! Can you tell us about your background and what drew you to this position?

Throughout my professional journey, I have embraced various roles and responsibilities. These encompass a diverse range of fields such as administration, operations, logistics, and information technology. However, regardless of the specific hat I wear, one constant has remained the key to my achievements: being part of a supportive and collaborative team, whether as an executive assistant or a business consultant.

How long have you lived in Ridgefield and what brought you here?

In 2016, I made the decision to relocate from Stamford CT to Ridgefield, seeking a more suburban environment for my family. It was during this search that a friend suggested Ridgefield, and from the moment I took my first stroll down Main Street, I knew I had found my new home. The town exuded a charming small-town atmosphere, offering a delightful blend of arts, music, entertainment, restaurants, and a rich historical background. Additionally, the exceptional school system further solidified my choice. From the very beginning, the warmth and hospitality of the neighbors and community members were overwhelming. They embraced us with open arms, making us feel like we belonged from day one. It is within this close-knit community that I have formed deep and meaningful friendships, ones that have stood the test of time and supported me through both the good and the challenging times. Their unwavering support and friendship have truly validated my decision to become a part of this remarkable community.

What is your favorite era of history? Is there a particular historical person, event, or topic you’re most interested in?

Having grown up in the Boston area, my fascination with the life and assassination of JFK has been ingrained in me since childhood. I distinctly remember the moment when I first noticed that my older relatives spoke in a manner reminiscent of JFK, and I found it incredibly cool. This realization sparked my curiosity and set me on a path of exploration. During my high school years, a school assignment delved deeper into JFK’s legacy, revealing his immense potential for enacting significant change. However, this promising trajectory was tragically derailed by an act of violence, leaving behind a multitude of unanswered questions. It serves as a constant reminder of the fragility of leadership and the profound impact that one individual can have on the course of history.

What other interests do you have?

Health and fitness have always been a driving passion of mine. I believe in the importance of taking care of our bodies and minds, and I am constantly seeking ways to improve my own well-being. Whether it’s through regular exercise, mindful eating, or staying up-to-date with the latest research and trends in the field, I am dedicated to living a healthy and active lifestyle. In addition to my passion for health and fitness, I find solace and joy in the realms of music, gardening, and DIY house projects. Music has the power to uplift and inspire me, and I often find myself lost in the melodies and rhythms of various genres. Gardening allows me to connect with nature and witness the beauty of growth and transformation firsthand. It brings me a sense of peace and fulfillment to nurture plants and create a vibrant and thriving outdoor space. Lastly, engaging in DIY house projects allows me to unleash my creativity and transform my living space into a reflection of my personal style and vision. There is a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that comes from completing a project with my own hands. Overall, these passions bring balance and fulfillment to my life. They allow me to nurture my physical and mental well-being, express my creativity, and find joy in the simple pleasures of life.
