Friday, February 10, 2023 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Scott House
This winter, the Ridgefield Historical Society is hosting a special exhibition within the Scott House, including original shingles from this 1714 home, and featuring hand-drawn designs and drawings from the Scott House’s earliest inhabitants.
On Tuesday, November 15, 8th Grade Students from East Ridge and Scotts Ridge Middle Schools lead a solemn service at the Ridgefield Historical Society, honoring the lives of two former Scott House residents, Lidia and Quash—both enslaved inhabitants of this 1714 David Scott home which originally stood at the corner of Main and Catoonah Streets. The students lead the installation of Witness Stones, put in place to honor these individuals and the lives they led. The Witness Stones will be placed outside the Scott House and may be visited at any time for years to come.
The Scott House is open Tuesday – Thursday from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
