Tuesday, June 20, 2023 @ 10:00 am

The Ridgefield History Club, a program of the Ridgefield Historical Society, is an informal monthly gathering in which attendees speak and reminisce together about a particular topic in Ridgefield history.

The topic for the June 20th meeting is Ridgefield’s Italian community. Jack Sanders, who has written 10 books on Ridgefield history, will be on hand.

Immigrants from Italy starting arriving in Ridgefield during the 19th century and they helped shape the fabric of the town. Many of their descendants continue to live and work in Ridgefield today. What Italian families or businesses in town do you remember? Is your family from Italy? What customs and traditions are uniquely Italian? What is your favorite Italian food and who cooked it best in Ridgefield? What are your memories of the Italian American Club? If you have any photos or objects related to Ridgefield’s Italian community, please bring them with you for show and tell!

Parking at the Scott House is limited, and registration is required to attend. Carpooling is highly encouraged.
