The Ridgefield Historical Society will be represented with a table offering some historical nuggets from Ridgefield civic history at the Ridgefield Civics Bowl on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. at East Ridge Middle School at 10 East Ridge Road in Ridgefield. An event for grades K-8 featuring activities and competitions, the Civics Bowl is a chance for teams of students in grades 4-5 and 6-8 to show off their civics knowledge. Younger students will find crafts and activities emphasizing civics education presented by volunteers. The free event (donations encouraged) is organized by Ms President US, a girls’ civic leadership program, and proceeds will benefit the Ms. President US Scholarship Fund.
