Battle of Ridgefield Documentary
As America approaches its 250th anniversary, archaeologists using hi-tech equipment and forensic scientists studying skeletal remains from the Battle of Ridgefield have advanced the history of that battle. As they worked, the Ridgefield Historical Society was documenting the process and now we are creating a powerful documentary to share the moments when their discoveries were made.
Viewers will “be there” as musket balls and uniform buttons – emotionally charged evidence of the fight – are pulled from the ground. They’ll be present as forensic scientists announce what they’ve found out about the men whose remains they’ve been examining.
Extraordinary experts will serve as our storytellers. Battlefield archaeologists, metal detectorists, forensic scientists and local historians will reveal how they uncovered new evidence that the Battle of Ridgefield was more fierce and significant than previously believed.
To complete our documentary, we need your support. Please make a generous contribution at ridgefieldhistoricalsociety.org so this story – the story of Ridgefield’s remarkable role in America’s history – can be told.
