Saturday, April 25 @ 6:00 pm 10:00 pm EDT

As our nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Cannon Ridge Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is honored to extend an invitation to a commemorative evening in Ridgefield, Connecticut.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Cannon Ridge Chapter will host the Remembrance Ball at the historic Lounsbury House. This black-tie gala commemorates our Nation’s Semiquincentennial, pays tribute to those who fought for American independence, and respectfully honors all sacrifices made at the Battle of Ridgefield.  We will also be hosting a parade and wreath laying ceremony that afternoon attended by the Governor’s Horse Guards.

Gold’s Dragoons of Westport will also be joining us to pay tribute to the great-grandson of their founder and fellow Gold’s Dragoon, Patriot Lieutenant Colonel Abraham Gould of Fairfield, who was killed in action as he led his men during some of the fiercest fighting of the Battle of Ridgefield. In addition, the Ridgefield Historical Society will share a preview of its forthcoming Battle of Ridgefield documentary about exciting archaeological discoveries made during the Society’s National Park Service-supported research. This dramatic new film will bring to light fresh insight that advances the historical record of the 1777 battle. Keith Marshall Jones III, author and the definitive voice of the Battle of Ridgefield, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

The evening will feature an exceptional dinner prepared by Chef Forrest Pasternack, trained at the Culinary Institute of America. The menu will be rooted in the revolutionary era and inspired by the storied hospitality of George and Martha Washington. Thereafter, guests will be invited to dance, and to participate in a charitable bidding, reflecting the long-held tradition of society assembling in fellowship and service to the common good.

Complete event details and ticket information may be found here:  TheRemembranceBall.fundraiser.support

Additional information regarding the service of Lieutenant Colonel Abraham Gould, sponsorship opportunities, program advertisements including memorials to Patriots, clans and organizations, charitable contributions, and general practicalities is available on the gala website.

Proceeds from the Remembrance Ball will remain local to Connecticut and New York and will support the Cannon Ridge Chapter’s charitable initiatives in education, patriotism—particularly service to veterans and their families—and historic preservation.

We would be delighted by the pleasure of your company and hope you will join us for this meaningful occasion.
