Procession beginning on Main Street and proceeding to Olde Town Cemetery
The 5th Connecticut Regiment and The Brigade of the American Revolution will conduct a funeral procession and ceremony, rooted in the traditions of the late 1700s, for the Revolutionary War soldiers discovered in Ridgefield in 2019. These young men died in battle in 1777 and will receive formal recognition at last. Join the community for a special tribute honoring their lives.
Representatives from the Continental Army will depart from their camp at Jesse Lee at 11:00am, joining their British counterparts at Ballard Park. From there, the troops will form a column for the procession, proceeding up Main Street with a horse-drawn carriage and period caskets. The ceremony will begin at approximately 12:00pm in the Olde Town Cemetery.
Please note: There is no parking inside the cemeteries, Main Street and North Street will be closed to traffic. Please enter the event through the Maple Shade cemetery. See map.
