Battle of Ridgefield Historical Walking Tours
Saturday, April 29 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm Ridgefield
Join the Ridgefield Historical Society as we commemorate the 246th Anniversary of the Battle of Ridgefield, which took place on April 27, 1777 and was a pivotal engagement in the Revolutionary War—pitting Patriots against Loyalists and awakening local patriotic sentiment in Connecticut.
The tour is produced by the Ridgefield Historical Society under the direction of local luminary Dr. Darla Shaw and is a “living history” event where Revolutionary War characters are brought to life by actors in period costumes, including Benedict Arnold, General Tryon, and Anna Stebbins, among others who will be stationed at several stops along Main Street, beginning at the Battle of Ridgefield sign north of Casagmo, and ending at the Keeler Tavern.
Two Tours: 10:30 and 11:00 a.m.
Sorry, both the 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. tours are full.
Each tour lasts approximately one hour, covers approximately one mile, and each stop will feature a short, entertaining, and informative performance.
Tours are limited to 20 people each. Tours begin on the Main Street sidewalk, just north of the entrance to Casagmo. Please park in town, walk to the tour start, and plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your tour start time. Tours will be conducted rain or shine.
