Capturing Moments in Time, Creating Memories at Silhouettes

Our sold-out Silhouettes event brought holiday joy to Ridgefield families.

The Ridgefield Historical Society’s annual Silhouettes event on Sunday, December 8, 2024, was a tremendous success, delighting families and raising funds for the Society’s preservation efforts. Renowned silhouette artist Deborah O’Connor expertly crafted heirloom-quality portraits for attendees, including children, parents, and even pets. Hosted at the historic Scott House, the event was completely sold out, with all appointments filled a month in advance. Many participants also took advantage of the option to submit digital profile photos beforehand, ensuring their silhouettes were ready for pick-up during the event. Visitors marveled at Ms. O’Connor’s artistry as she captured the essence of her subjects in mere minutes using only scissors and a keen eye.

The event’s warm, festive atmosphere brought the community together, with attendees praising the personalized keepsakes as unique holiday gifts and treasured family heirlooms. Attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to support the Historical Society. The Ridgefield Historical Society extends heartfelt thanks to Ms. O’Connor, the volunteers, and everyone who participated in making this Silhouettes event a memorable and meaningful day. We look forward to offering this special experience again in December 2025.
