Scholarship

The Ridgefield Historical Society Scholarship was established in 2022 as part of the Society’s 20th anniversary and has since become an annual tradition celebrating Ridgefield High School seniors who show a strong interest in history and local heritage. The $1,000 award was created to encourage students to reflect on Ridgefield’s past through their own perspective while recognizing the importance of preserving and sharing the stories that shape our community. Since its founding, the scholarship has been awarded to Tyler Ingram, Kate Tebbe, Marko Katra, and Alma Abraham, each of whom brought a meaningful connection to history through their applications.
By supporting students who engage with the past in thoughtful ways, the Society hopes to inspire a new generation to value Ridgefield’s cultural heritage and to see local history as something living, relevant, and worth preserving. The scholarship also reflects the Society’s larger mission: to foster a lasting appreciation for Ridgefield’s history and its significance for both the present and the future.
