The Ridgefield History Club, a program of the Ridgefield Historical Society, is an informal monthly gathering in which attendees speak and reminisce together about a particular topic in Ridgefield history.

The topic for the July 18th meeting is Ridgefield’s Businesses Past and Present. Jack Sanders, who has written 10 books on Ridgefield history, will be on hand.

Over the years, there have been many businesses Ridgefield that have come and gone with the changes in the community’s needs, the growth of Ridgefield and surrounding areas, and technological advances. What businesses, that no longer exist, do you remember best? Did your family have any favorite stores or restaurants? Did you or your friends work in any of these places? If you have any photos or objects related to Ridgefield’s businesses, please bring them with you for show and tell!

Parking at the Scott House is limited, and registration is required to attend. Carpooling is highly encouraged.
