Dr. Darla Shaw honored with 2024 Behind the Scenes Award and Nancy Comstock Andrews Award

Ridgefield Arts Council presented Dr. Shaw with awards for teaching and mentorship through her work with the Ridgefield Historical Society.

We were thrilled to honor Dr. Darla Shaw with the Ridgefield Historical Society’s 2024 Behind the Scenes Award from the Ridgefield Arts Council. Dr. Shaw was also the recipient of the 2024 Nancy Comstock Andrews Award for teaching and mentorship in the arts across all disciplines.

For over two decades Dr. Shaw has made invaluable behind the scenes contributions to the Ridgefield Historical Society. Her dedication spans a diverse array of endeavors, from tireless advocacy for literacy to her innovative story telling initiatives. Dr. Shaw’s unwavering commitment to preserving local history has left an indelible mark on the community, enriching Ridgefield’s cultural landscape. Her passion for education and storytelling serves as a beacon of inspiration, inspiring others to appreciate the importance of heritage and the power of narrative.
