Step back in time into the 18th-century Peter Parley Schoolhouse! Watch a video about Peter Parley, its most famous “scholar”. See old desks, quill pens, and a potbellied stove. Find out which of Ridgefield’s twelve little red schoolhouses was closest to your house. Read the strict teacher’s rules and play with colonial toys!
On September 30, the program will feature a pop-up of the Historical Society’s exhibit, WWI: Ridgefield Answers the Call, which features display posters, created by local graphic artist Bil Mikulewicz. The exhibit commemorates the end of WWI and centers on the contribution Ridgfielders made during the war.
The schoolhouse is open from 1 pm to 4 pm the last Sunday of each month, from May through October. Click here for directions.
