overlooking the Hudson River in Tarrytown, NY
Saturday June 10, 2017
Join the Historical Society on Saturday, June 10th for our spring trip to Tarrytown, New York to visit two historic homes on the Hudson River.
First stop is Lyndhurst, the former home of railroad magnate Jay Gould. We will view the extensive grounds and gardens and take a guided tour of the art and antiques filled mansion.
After a casual buffet lunch at a nearby restaurant, we will board the bus, take a short ride to Sunnyside, and tour the uniquely designed home of Washington Irving, author of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Sunnyside has beautiful gardens to stroll through and scenic views of the Hudson River.
Our bus will leave the south parking lot of Pond’s Edge Professional Park at 901 Ethan Allen Highway (Rte. 7) at 8:00 a.m. and leave Tarrytown at 4:00 p.m.
Ticket cost for members is $70 and $75 for nonmembers. Lunch is included in the price.
