11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Ridgefield Library, Ridgefield
Edward Hynes, who has lectured here about Tryon’s Raid (which included the Battle of Ridgefield), will share his research on the Revolutionary War’s maritime action on Long Island Sound in a talk co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Historical Society at the Ridgefield Library.
With the British-occupied Long Island and the Patriot-held Connecticut shores just 10 miles apart, there was frequent conflict during the war, with attacks often perpetrated by whaleboats, which could be rowed or move under sail.
There will be time for questions following Mr. Hynes’ talk. To register, visit the Ridgefield Library’s event page here.
