7:30 am - 5:30 pm
Our fall trip destination is Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, home of Theodore Roosevelt and his family. We will take a guided tour of the 23-room house which underwent a three year renovation in 2013. The house retains its original furnishings, books, and taxidermy – a display of Roosevelt’s passion for hunting.
The site also includes The Old Orchard Museum, former home of Theodore Roosevelt Jr. The museum houses artifacts that document TR’s life and accomplishments.
After touring the house and museum, we head to the town of Huntington for lunch. Huntington has a wide variety of restaurants for you to choose from within easy walking distance.
Cost of the trip is $60 for members and $70 for nonmembers. To sign up, call The Ridgefield Historical Society at 203-438-5821 or email us at email@example.com.
Meet at the south parking lot of Pond’s Edge Professional Park (click for map; 901 Ethan Allen Highway). Arrive a little early to leave time to park and board the bus.
