Books About Ridgefield

Located on the Ground Floor

For a small town with fewer than 8,000 people most of its three centuries, Ridgefield has had a remarkably large number of books written about it, both non-fiction and fiction.
As early as 1800, people were writing about the town, and in the years since, three full histories of the community have appeared, along with many more books covering specialized subjects. At least a dozen novels have been set in Ridgefield (sometimes renamed the likes of Glenville or Raven’s Wing by the authors).
This exhibit attempts to show the variety, quality, and depth of books written about Ridgefield.

Authors From Ridgefield

Located on the Lower Level

Five Pulitzer Prize winners and one Nobel Prize winner are among the writers who have called Ridgefield home. This presentation is a sampling of books written by Ridgefielders, complementing the exhibit upstairs in the main hall featuring books about Ridgefield.
