SUMMARY:Graveside "Sit In"
DESCRIPTION:The Ridgefield Graveyard Restoration Committee\, which is an official town committee will be hosting a graveside “sit in” on June 14 at the Branchville Cemetery on Florida Hill Rd. (just off route102 near route 7).  All records of those buried at this cemetery have been lost!  In an attempt to identify those who are interred there or hold a deed for future burials\, the Ridgefield Graveyard Restoration Committee will be onsite for this gravside “sit in”.  The Ridgefield Historical Society houses records for the committee in our vault located at our headquarters at the Scott House.

DESCRIPTION:Ridgefield CT Commemorates America at 250 Presents: Party in the Park!\n\n\n\nJoin the Ridgefield Historical Society on July 4\, 2026 from 11am-2pm in Ballard Park for an unforgettable celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpend the afternoon with lively contra (folk) dancing\, toe-tapping live music by Bourbon and Britches\, and a wide range of family-friendly entertainment. Enjoy face painting\, a balloon artist\, a magician\, glitter tattoos\, a stilt walker\, interactive activity stations and more. There is something for all ages. The afternoon will also include the opportunity to reflect on the enduring words of the Declaration of Independence presented by the Keeler Tavern Museum and History Center. \n\n\n\nBallard Park is the place to be this Independence Day as we mark this historic milestone together.
