In April 1777, the Redcoats marched toward Ridgefield Village on their return to port from Danbury. Patriots in Ridgefield quickly constructed a barricade and lay in wait. A skirmish ensued, and Benedict Arnold had his horse shot out from under him—but the battle was far from over. Join our Battle of Ridgefield Walking Tour and learn what happened in our village before the British departed on the morning of the 28th of April.
The tour will last 90 minutes. Meet at the Battle of Ridgefield sign near the entrance to Casagmo (near the intersection of Main Street and Olcott Way). For reservations, please contact Ridgefield Historical Society at 203-438-5821 or email@example.com.
