Lounsbury House

Built by Governor Phineas Lounsbury in the late 1800’s. The building was first displayed as the Connecticut State Building at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in1893.  Phineas saw it there and decided to have his original home, Grovelawn, moved in order to build a replica of this neo classical revival mansion which he also named  Grovelawn.
