The Research Library is available to the public for use during Ridgefield Historical Society’s hours. The collection of a bout 1,500 volumes is focused mainly on Ridgefield history, although there is material on the surrounding towns and U.S. and Connecticut history. There is a genealogy collection as well as several binders on Ridgefield Street names, the Architectural Survey of Ridgefield’s historic houses, early census and historical vital statistics of Ridgefield, and Dick’s Dispatches, a collection of folksy newspaper articles about people and places originally published in The Ridgefield Press.
Information on the collection may be found via the website and also the Past Perfect Catalog at the Scott House. The collection is arranged by subject and the alphabetically by author. The call number will refer to the appropriate shelf.
This is a non-circulating library, but users may use the copy machine for material.
