SCOTT: Seeking information on descendants of David Scott, b. 21 Feb 1727 in Ridgefield, Fairfield, CT. Specifically interested in son David Scott b. Jun 1752, who appears to have moved to Lenox, Mass., before 1775, and thence to Lowville, Lewis County, N.Y., about 1800. Mark Webb, 535 Teresa Ln., Canton, GA 30115. markhw at adelphia.net

DARLING: I am seeking information on the parents, siblings and other descendants of my g.g.g.grandfather, John Darling, and his wife, Elizabeth Canby Birdsall Darling.  Family records indicate that John was born in or near Ridgefield, Connecticut on or about March 12, 1769.  He and Elizabeth are reported to have married at St. John, Ontario in about 1792 and John died about February 23, 1825 in St. John. Family records also indicate that John was probably a descendant of George Darling who was captured by the British during or following the Battle of Dunbar in Scotland in 1650 and subsequently moved to Massachusetts in about 1651. Any information as to John's ancestry or siblings or suggestions  will be most appreciated. John Shotwell, 2562 Hillis Drive Langley (Whidbey Island), WA 98260 johnisjr at whidbey.com

HANOPHY: In a letter on March 1, 1909 My grandfather Seth Milliken is staying with his "Uncle Joe Hanophy". (He lists return address "The Orchard" Ridgefield, Conn.) . He describes a drive with his friends "Nellie, Clarence, and Evelind (I believe his cousin). They went to "Bills" Venesce in Wilton - 18 miles away. He mentions pigs being born and calves so I suspect we're looking at a modest farmer. Seth's mother is Ida (Uncle Jo's sister?). wethewal at cox.net

KEELER: I am a descendant of Thomas Keeler, son of Silas and Abigail Elmer Keeler. He was born 4-8-1762, in Ridgefield, CT. Would you know who he married and where? I have some info, but I can't verify it. Karen Keeler Brown. Kkb357 at aol.com

JONES: Seeking information on parents of James Jones, born Dec. 5, 1799 in Ridgefield or later moved to Ridgefield. His father was likely James or William Jones (this was a tradition for at least 4 generations). He and his wife moved to Ithaca, NY in 1822. He was a successful farmer in the Ithaca/Danby area where he died June 19, 1887. Contact Mary - maryandkeithmiller at earthlink.net.

FARRAR HOUSE: I am looking for historical photographs/descriptions of our home at 7 Farrar Lane (south corner of Farrar and North Salem Road) – once owned by Sydney Farrar, father of Geraldine Farrar – opera singer, Born in MA and who later resided on New Street. Our house has been remodeled several times and once appeared in a Ridgefield Bank Calendar in a previous state. We would like to see the house in its original form and see the progressions that brought it to its current state. I would appreciate any information available. We’ve been told that the original structure dates back to 1789 but there is little remaining from that time. The first round of remodeling occurred in the mid to late 1800’s and several alterations and additions occurred after that. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Lisa Mose, Anneliesm at Comcast.net
